- Play the Head from Bessie's Blues two times (24 measures) - Page 42 of Real Book 6th Edition
- Play the etude listed below as "MS SOLO ETUDE - BESSIE'S BLUES" (12 measures) ***Note that the etude is written for Alto Sax. Most Jazz Band pieces do not have a flute part written therefore flutes double the Alto Sax part. The etude for flute will need to be transposed up a minor third (3 half steps) from the Alto Sax part.***
